Linus grew up in a home full of music. He started beating on his older brother’s drum kit before he was big enough to reach the pedals. In 2007 his debut album The Lines was released on HOOB Records.

Sweden’s biggest jazz magazine Orkesterjournalen called it “One of this years best Swedish jazz albums”. Linus received the prestigious Jazzkatten award as newcomer of the year in 2008. His second album as a leader Objets Trouvés was released in 2012 and further recognized him as a creative saxophonist and composer to be reckoned with. In 2014 Linus received one of Sweden’s biggest Jazz music awards from the Bert Levin foundation.

The jury’s statement read: “Linus Lindblom has his own musical world both as a saxophonist and composer. He is a highly personal musician that deserves attention. With great integrity and stylistic roots in the rich soil of the 60’s he combines Nordic lyricism and melancholy with jazz traditions. Linus Lindblom moves amazingly homely in the past, present as well as the future that he is part of. Always with freshness, originality and self-will.”
