"Old jazz can't sound more modern!" – described Schweizer Illustrierte magazine the first work of Straymonk jazz quintet from Zurich.

The second project of Zurich quartet, soloed by Gabriel Dalvit (alto saxophone) and Nat Su, is a natural continuation of their first sensational debut album "Strayhornmonk" were the band performed Billy Strayhorn’s and Thelonious Monk’s works. The new album is entirely devoted to the multifarious music of the revolutionary double bassist Charles Mingus, to his unique identity and ever-changing spirit.

Two alto saxophones, double bass and drums is not a typical jazz quartet, especially if there are no harmonic instruments. No wonder Straymonk’s development is in full swing. The first album of Straymonks was mainly presented in the top clubs in Switzerland, but the second one travels overseas to conquer larger audience.
